Surveys, Research and Other Services

I have been drawing and studying historic buildings for most of my adult life and as such I can provide specialist services for architects and engineers. I can produce everything from working drawings for fixing details through to full measured plan and elevation drawings for planning approval and listed building consent. I can produce condition surveys of everything from doors and windows to a complete timber frame or historic building. I can also research a building's history if required. All can then be used to provide a comprehensive archive of information for the client, Many times I am asked to liaise with the local conservation officer or building preservation trust, and to provide reports and information, which I am also more than happy to do.

Before any construction starts for any new build project, the design is always shown to the client for approval!
A sample of an on-site survey drawing prior to dismantling. All elements to be dismantled are catalogued, photographed, measured and recorded so a precise reconstruction can be made later.
A sample of a drawing produced for architects' and engineers' approval. Often the solution to curing a building's problems comes from involving dialogue and debate between the different parties involved in its conservation.
A working drawing submitted to the local planning authority for listed building consent. (which was succesfully granted!).
Working drawings for new joinery. Drawings for architectural practices and local authority approval can be by hand, or produced on a variety of popular CAD software. Please email me for more information.
A simple elevation drawing may suffice, especially for local authority related projects. Email me for more information on drawings.
